My experience as a physical therapist in a hospital has made me passionate about preparing others for health changes and aging. We want to grow old, but often don’t want to embrace some of the realities that aging asks of us.

As a certified facilitator for advanced care planning, I offer a safe space to listen and talk openly with you and the people close to you about some of the difficult but important choices ahead.

I’ve witnessed in my family that you can have a say in your care. As a young adult, I was able to say goodbye and hold my Nana’s hand after she decided not to have her legs amputated. I saw my dad advocate for his sister’s wishes to end life support because she had a healthcare directive, and he knew what living well meant to her. He was spared guilt with his grief. After a century of living independently, my cognitively intact grandmother chose to go into hospice care. My Nana, my Aunt, and my Grandmother had some control over how they finished living, because they knew what they wanted, spoke up, and their loved ones listened.

My goal is for all people to have control and confidence while making medical decisions for themselves and their loved ones. I am empathetic to the many changes that occur with aging. I outline care options and senior living choices so you can actively plan. I want to mitigate the guilt, stress, and family conflict often associated with making decisions when wishes are unknown. I am here to walk you through this process, to make it less overwhelming.

Living well to me is: laughing and sharing experiences with family and friends, being physically active in nature, cooking and eating international foods, reading, and traveling.
